Another teacher has been arrested on a felony assault
charge, this time from Greenwood, Arkansas. Deanna
Bobo, the 37-year-old mother of five, was accused of
having sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old student
on two different occasions. This comes on the heels of
the latest sentencing of Debra Lafave, a 25-year-old
former model and teacher from Tampa, Florida.
If you're trying to keep up with the news you'll find
that almost everyday there is a young child sexually
molested, a young woman missing, or a young boy who
has killed his or someone else's parents. Society
seems to be breaking down more and more each day.
Lawlessness is increasing and the threat of anarchy is
becoming a real possibility. Just look at the
situation across Europe in the past few weeks. After
Hurricane Katrina there was rampant looting in New
Orleans and also in Ohio after a proposed march by a
neo-nazis group. This is all part of the end-time
scenario as the end of the age draws near.
When I was in school in the sixties we would never
have thought of doing some of the things that are
being done today. Teachers were looked up to and they
protected their students from anything that would hurt
them. And, listen, I didn't go to church or hear any
prayers in school back then. I ran with a pretty rough
crowd, but certain things were just not done. I was
saved at the age of twenty-one, but I wasn't called to
be a pastor until I was 31 years old. I wonder now
what kept me from being worse than I was, but I
believe that God was keeping His providential and
sovereign hand upon my life until I came to my senses.
We are in a state of degeneration, of moral breakdown,
and the night of this dispensation is growing darker
each and every day. Only the return of Jesus Christ
will correct the ills of a society that has turned its
back on God and opened the door to our enemies. Paul
states in Romans 1:21-32:
Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
Rom 1:23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Rom 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Rom 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Some people are still living in a state of denial.
Listen, keep up with and watch your small children,
know what your teenagers are involved in, and for
goodness sakes, be aware of your surroundings and stay
out of places that invite trouble. We are living in
dangerous times, but some people are still not aware
of this. I think back to the girl that was kidnapped
from the Walmart in Tyler, Texas. Especially be
careful during this holiday season. Have a great
Thanksgiving and do remember to thank God for your
many blessings this week. If you're not thankful, just
read some of the writings back during the 12th
century. Appreciate the fact that you're not sweeping
a dirt floor and wondering where your next meal is
coming from. No anesthesia, no antibiotics, no
cellphones, no microwaves, no television, no
computers, no movies, no DVD--think about it the next
time you begin complaining. Happy Thanksgiving!!!
