Re: "Connecting the dots"

Note: This is a response to an article by Rebecca Hagelin "Connecting the dots"
at WorldNetDaily

Hello Rebecca,

First of all, I'd like to say that your article was right on the money. We are living in a "throw away" society and the incidents that you described seem to be increasing daily. As a pastor and teacher I have tried to convey this to my congregation, but the average person is only interested in what's happening to them and their family. John R.W. Stott calls this the "village mentality." Maybe this is a natural human trait, but the Bible foretold this even in Paul's day. Paul warns in 2 Timothy 3:1 that "in the last days perilous times shall come" and that men would be "without natural affection" (2 Tim. 3:3). Along with this he foretold that "evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived" (2 Tim. 3:13). Jesus compared our times to those of Noah (See my article on Noah and the Great Flood ). http://prophecyforum.com/noah.html

So, I agree with you that parents are not parenting and the culture has gone mad, but why is this? Because as we move away from God in our schools and society, we reap the consequences of our behavior. We have become desensitized to violence, immorality, and this will only continue unless we turn back to God. But does this happen according to the Bible. No! Actually, the Word of God tells us that this will continue to get worse as we move closer to the Lord's return.

We have a politically correct society that cannot discern right from wrong (See Isaiah 5:20). We harp about the trashing of the Koran, yet according to reliable statistics over 165,000 Christians were martyred around the world, Bibles and churches were burned, pastors and their families were beaten for their faith. Most of this was done by MOSLEMS!!! Well, let's just get down to it: When the Lord returns He will certainly take care of the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, and all the rest of these liberal organizations as well as all of the Christ-rejecting nations. So, according to God's Word, the Lord will take care of this and all other problems, turmoil, and tragedies being perpetrated by ungodly and wicked men. Amen.

But the good news is that Christ died for our sins, and that we can have a free pardon and be forgiven for all our iniquities. Have you asked the Lord to save you? If not, let me know how I can help. Listen, there's great things coming once this old world is cleaned up, and actually this is what I'm looking forward to, not the mess that we're seeing today. There is a "new world coming!" Hope to see you there!

In Christ,
Pastor Larry Cockerham
